SAT or PSAT Exam Scam Calls Alert

Posted Date: 10/24/24 (3:05 PM)

Dear Parent or Guardian,

This is a friendly reminder to be cautious about sharing personal or financial information over the phone with unsolicited callers. We want to alert you that many parents and guardians of children who have recently taken the SAT or PSAT exams have reported receiving scam calls requesting sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, to send test results.

Here are some important tips to help you protect yourself from SAT-related scams:

1. Be Cautious with Unsolicited Calls: If you receive an unexpected call asking for payment, take the time to research the organization before sharing any personal information.

2. Verify with Your Child: If someone claims to be calling about a service your child requested, hang up and check with them before proceeding.

3. Know the College Board's Policies: The College Board will never ask for your banking or credit card information over the phone or via email.

4. Protect Your Financial Information: Never provide financial details to strangers, especially for purchases you didn’t initiate.
