To the JCB Firebird community,

As I embark on my 11th year as principal of J.C. Birdlebough High School, I do so with incredible excitement and anticipation for the 2026-27 school year! Reflecting on the past decade, it has been a privilege to build strong relationships, continuously enhance our student learning initiatives, and navigate a constantly changing world. Together, we adapt, innovate, and remain resilient — always ready to rise and soar like the Phoenix.

Our Firebirds showed their incredible spirit throughout the 2025-26 school year, achieving excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. Their hard work led to remarkable success on high-stakes assessments, job placements, military enlistments, and college acceptances, with over $360,000 in scholarship awards! Whether on the field, on the stage, or in the classroom, our dedicated staff continues to support the growth and success of every single student.

To our students, the start of a new school year is your chance to discover what truly ignites you, dream big, and set your own goals for the future. We encourage you to fully engage in school life by joining sports, clubs, and activities that build connections, spark creativity, and cultivate pride. This year has the potential to be your best yet if you stay Rooted to Rise in 26-27!!

Please submit excusal notes directly through ParentSquare. You may also call the school or send us an email if your child is absent. To have an absence considered excused, you must provide either a handwritten note or an email. It is important for your child to be able to make up any missed schoolwork.

MISSION STATEMENT: John C. Birdlebough High School is committed to a strong educational program that promotes academic and personal growth for all students. It is our goal to graduate students who have positive self-images and are open-minded, informed, responsible, productive members of society, able to make intelligent choices. This will be accomplished in a safe and orderly environment, through the efforts of a highly skilled and dedicated staff, in cooperation with the State Education Department, the Phoenix Board of Education, parents, students, and other members of the community.
