To the Firebird community,
It is with great excitement and anticipation for the 2024-25 school year that I begin my ninth year as the principal of J.C. Birdlebough High School! The first eight years have been filled with building positive relationships, continually trying to improve our approaches to student learning and achievement, and watching the world around us evolve in different ways. Through it all, we adjust, we make changes, we remain flexible, and we continue to rise up and soar just as the mythological Phoenix does!
Our Firebird students continued to show their “fire” throughout the 2023-24 school year, demonstrating excellence in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in the fine arts arena. There were high levels of academic success; this led to achievement on assessments, scholarship awards, and college acceptances. There were also successes in the competitive arenas as well. The JCB staff continually dedicates themselves to the growth and success of each and every one of our students!
To the students of JCB, the start of every new school year is your opportunity to reconsider what really ignites you, to dream about the possibilities that exist in your future, and to set goals for your path to success. We encourage you to get involved in the life of your school by engaging in healthy activities (athletics, clubs, organizations, etc.) that build relationships, enhance skills, and give you a sense of pride. This school year is going to be a great one and I challenge you all Rise Above in ‘24 - ‘25!
Mr. Thomas W. Bailer
